Akiavel’s fourth album, InVictus (translated as “invincible” or “undefeated”), is a major release to which the four musicians have sought to craft a profound artistic vision.
The band has composed and refined each track with precision and without compromise. The album delivers Akiavel’s raw energy, the power of their striking, incisive, and captivating music. Every element: melodies, rhythm, vocals, was designed to authentically convey the intensity of complex and often contradictory emotions: pain on one hand, and courage and hope on the other.
With InVictus, Akiavel delves deeper into their identity, a unique blend of styles and influences that has become the band’s hallmark. The album features tracks with edgy riffs and tense tracks from Thrash Metal influences, explosive rhythms that reflect contemporary Death Metal, and, of course, Akiavel’s signature style: Melodic Death Metal. These tracks are both intense and moving, combining darkness and melody to great effect.
In addition to the music, Akiavel has infused InVictus with a strong visual dimension, as they always do. The album artwork was designed as an extension of their sonic universe, with paintings created by the artist Dom. These paintings evoke the fragility and complexity of life, further strengthening the connection between the visual concept and the lyrics. This attention to the album’s aesthetics, paired with its musical intensity, makes InVictus a complete and immersive work designed to leave a lasting impression.
With InVictus, Akiavel continues to cement their place on the Death Metal scene.
Technical, powerful, and deeply moving, this major release, with its refined aesthetic, reflects the musical maturity the band has developed over the years. It confirms Akiavel’s status as one of the leading names in both the French and international metal scenes.
The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by HK Krauss at Vamacara Studio, with arrangements by HK Krauss and Stéphane Buriez.
